History

Panorama Hills Animal Hospital is a private veterinary practice founded by Dr. Tejinder Khaira in 2010, and has since then served thousands of patients every year.

Our amazing team consists of three veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff who are all passionate about animals. We pride ourselves on providing high quality and compassionate care to all our patients.

With decades of experience treating a wide range of diseases and conditions, our team has the expertise and skills needed to provide comprehensive and compassionate care for your beloved companions.

Meet the Clinic Boss

Gator, Persian

Gator joined our family in 2016 when Heather adopted her as a very sick kitten. She was the lone survivor from her litter.

The clinic is Gators second home, and she knows she's in charge of both. She has strongly influenced everyone to pursue Feline Friendly Practises and Low Stress Handling.

In her spare time she enjoys cuddling with her 3 other sisters at home, sun tanning and playing in the sink and bathtub.

She is also highly passionate in pursuing meowdeling, watching the squirrels through the window and being a nosey block watch supervisor for the neighbors.

Meet our Veterinarians

Dr. Tejinder Khaira, DVM & Head Veterinarian

Dr. Khaira has been practising as a small animal veterinarian for over 25 years in Calgary. He moved here in 1994 immediately after graduating from veterinary school in India, where growing up with animals inspired him to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

Throughout his career, he has strived for and achieved excellence in providing the highest standard of veterinary care possible to patients.

Dr. Khaira loves every aspect of veterinary medicine, but has a special interest in orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, and dentistry. Throughout his career, he has consistently taken courses to update his skills.

Outside of work, Dr. Khaira enjoys reading and spending time with his family.

Dr. Kirstin Sprissler, DVM

Dr. Sprissler has been with our team as a veterinarian for over 11 years, joining Panorama Hills Animal Hospital in 2011. Prior, she spent several years at a rural practice in Alberta.

She graduated from Guelph's Ontario Veterinary College in 2005 with an interest in small animal and exotic medicine.

In her spare time, Dr. Sprissler enjoys skiing and mountain biking, as well as spending time with her dog Norah.

Dr. Manpreet Dhaliwal, DVM

Dr. Dhaliwal has always loved animals, and has a great respect for the human-animal bond that owners create with their pets, which led him to pursue being a veterinarian right after graduating from high school in Calgary.

Dr. Dhaliwal went abroad to Australia, and studied at and graduated from the prestigious veterinary medicine program at the University of Sydney in Australia. Dr. Dhaliwal has an interest in all facets of veterinary medicine, and a focus on pet veterinary medicine.

Outside of work, Dr. Dhaliwal enjoys spending time at the gym, playing basketball, studying veterinary literature, and hanging out with his dog, Jojo.

Meet our Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT)

Heather, RVT & Manager

Heather is a RVT and the manager at Panorama Hills Animal Hospital, joining the team at our founding in November 2010.

Born and raised in Calgary Alberta, Heather grew up surrounded by all types of pets. She is our resident cat-fanatic, and is a certified Cat Friendly Professional.

She graduated with a diploma in Animal Health Technology from Olds College in 2006. She currently resides in Airdrie, with 4 cats (Amara a DSH, Gator, a teacup Persian and recently 2 new Persian X Siamese kittens named Ripley and Newt).

Her interests include cat behaviour and enrichment, art and photography.

Mariela, RVT & Assistant Manager

Mariela is one of our RVTs, and has been with us for over seven years.

She graduated from Olds College in 2015 with a diploma in Animal Health Technology, and enjoys all aspects of her career, but surgery has a special place in her heart.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, an active lifestyle, nature and art.

Shelby, RVT

Shelby is a recent Veterinary Technologist graduate from Olds College. Originally from Calgary, she rescued a dog named Kaia during her studies. While she has a special interest in working with small companion animals and emphasizes fear-free practices, Shelby enjoys working with animals of all species.

Kaylee, RVT

Kaylee recently graduated from Lakeland College's RVT program and has always been passionate about animals. She has a cat, Blu, and a shiba inu, Poppy, with a particular fondness for shibas. Outside of work, Kaylee enjoys the outdoors, baking, and camping.

Rorie

Part Time Receptionist

Rorie has been with our team for over eight years. With 15+ years of experience in the financial industry, she is a great asset to our team.

She is a grandmother to two French Bulldogs named Bruno and Roscoe. In her spare time she loves spoiling her furbabies and spending quality time in the outdoors and going to the gym.

Robyn

Full Time Receptionist

Robyn has been part of our team for over four years, and graduated from Bow Valley College with a Veterinary Office Assistant certificate in 2018.

A natural born animal lover, Robyn always had hopes and dreams to work with animals every day. She is usually the first smiling face you meet when you walk in.

She is currently owned by 4 cats: Willow, Mauii, Shyee and Pekoe, who keep their mom entertained. She also has a leopard gecko named Solstice.

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking/nature, art and photography.
